SK Football Coaching are delighted to provide information on our partnership with Loreto College, which began at the start of the current academic year.
Having provided education for young adults in the South Manchester region since the mid-19th century, Loreto are an established institution graded “outstanding in every aspect”.
Current alumni include former Manchester City footballers Micah Richards and Michael Johnson, with SKFC’s partnership designed to enhance the college’s sporting pedigree.
Overseen by SKFC founding member Peter Shaw, both the boys’ and girls’ football teams will receive bespoke coaching programmes.
The boys side will be coached and managed by Peter, competing in the North West Colleges Football League Eastern Conference.
Speaking on the partnership, Peter expressed his excitement towards what lies ahead with the college team:
“To have finally got going with this project is brilliant. Stretching out into higher education has been a target of SKFC’s for some time. It was the next logical step”.
Whilst an experienced coach at all levels of grassroots football, Peter boasts a track record of working within 11-a-side football.
Along with developing the boys’ team, Peter will also be part of the team providing coaching provisions for the girls’ team too.
The partnership will see SKFC lead the girls’ enrichment, whilst promoting pathways into womens’ football and competing in sporadic fixtures against other colleges.
It is the latest step in SKFC’s commitment to providing professional coaching within girls’ football, and Peter was open about the opportunity:
“This represents a big step for SKFC as an organisation and we are proud to be working alongside Loreto to develop the college’s girls football programme”.
SKFC will provide provisions for Loreto College for the remainder of the academic year.
